SmartERP

Overview

SmartERP is a modular ERP starter aimed at Sri Lankan SMEs. Phase 1 covers the modules a small operator actually needs on day one: authentication and roles, POS, invoicing, inventory, CRM, suppliers, purchase orders, employees, expenses, reporting, and task management.

It is a Cyex product-shaped codebase — PHP on Apache with rewrite routing, APIs, and database-backed business logic — so a shop can grow module by module instead of buying an enterprise suite they will never configure.

Source is private. This case study documents the product, not a public sample repo.

Problem

Sri Lankan SMEs outgrow Excel and WhatsApp but cannot absorb the cost, English-only UX, or module sprawl of global ERPs. They need POS, invoices, stock, suppliers, and a simple people/expense layer that a small team can run. SmartERP is the starter for that shape of business.

What I built

• Authentication and role-based access

• PHP APIs and rewrite routing on Apache
• MySQL-backed business logic for each module

Impact

• Positions Cyex as an ERP vendor with a Sri Lanka-first module set
• Complements Srijaya: Srijaya is a live print-shop system; SmartERP is the reusable SME starter in the same category
• Phase 1 is wide on purpose — operators can turn modules on without a second product

Technologies

My role

Founder / product owner at Cyex: module map, architecture, and Phase 1 delivery. This is commercial product work, not a tutorial ERP.
